A Graduation Checklist

Although the time is approaching to graduate, there is still so much to keep in mind before tossing up the cap and flipping over that tassel and receiving that diploma. It is important to close ties and finish things off on a good note before you start your next chapter. Leaving everything in the dust is equivalent to not finishing the last sentences of a book and then starting a new one.

Here are some of the things I've been finishing off in order to graduate on time:

1. Classes

Make sure you are up to speed on all your class. Reach out to your professors and let them know this is your last chance to boost that GPA and pass that class. Keep in contact with your advisor about what requirements you need to meet in credits in order to graduate on time and if there are any classes you are missing.

2. Living

If you are renting an apartment, make sure you find someone to take over your lease or a form to pay for your place while you have already moved away. Speak with your leasing office on what your options are if you are not longer going to be staying there and if there is any way you can give up that lease after graduation. Next, you'll have to pack up, sell excessive things and figure out where you will move everything to.

3. Portfolio

You didn't attend four years of college for nothing. Make sure you have kept a record of all your accomplishments during college. A portfolio of your best work and recognitions would be a perfect thing to develop in your last month of college. This way, you won't have to anonymously reach out to someone after you've graduated in order to retrieve an old archive.
